Formerly a colonial administration centre and later a textile and even a Motor Assembly town and until recently, Livingstone was the provincial Headquarters for Southern Province. The Town’s main commercial and near town residential areas are still held back to the early settlers’ architectural designs.
Though now owned by individuals and families mainly, of Asian origin, many such buildings are closely monitored and supervised by the department of National Heritage to preserve their original designs of mostly Jewish decent to which the town and country owes its early commercial activities.
As a Tourist Capital and rightly so, the main Economic activity in Livingstone is Tourism. Tourism activities range from African Sights and Tours of the Victoria falls and Livingstone Island, African Safaris tours, African Cultural Activities and Village Tours, African Historical Town tour to African Adventure Activities.
